Photography

I do photography as a serious hobby. I started years ago when I was a teenager with a Minolta XG-1 film camera.

As the years passed and I had a family and job, photography went on the back burner. Once my kids were all raised and my job stabilized, I dug back in and got serious with it again. I bought a Nikon D90 camera and an 18-300mm lens and started taking pictures of everything I could.

Eventually I outgrew the capabilities of the D90 and bought a Nikon D750 full frame and D7200 crop frame bodies along with a Nikkor 24-120mm and a 150-600mm Tamron lens.

As my skills improved I decided to take a final leap and buy a full professional level setup that included a Nikon D850 full frame and a D500 crop frame bodies. I bought the full trifecta Nikkor zoom lenses which includes Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 and Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8. These are the best zoom lenses made.

I finally got tired of lugging around big heavy DSLR camera’s so decided to move into the new mirrorless camera era. I got a Nikon Z7ii and Nikkor 24-120mm f/4 lens as my primary workhorse. I also have Nikkor macro and other various lenses for specific situations but I rarely use those. I really love this camera. I had bought a Sony A7R IV. I didn’t like it at all so sold it and went back to my reliable Nikon. I’ll stick with Nikon. I just love the way everything works with it.
